Cherry Lane

Step back in time and into the embrace of rustic charm with our this architectural masterpiece—a modern barn with touches of centuries past. Guided by our client’s vision for a structure that exuded the character of a bygone era, we embarked on a journey to recreate the allure of a barn steeped in history. With site-built engineered trusses reminiscent of old-world craftsmanship, our approach mirrored the tradition of a barn raising, evoking a sense of community and camaraderie. To achieve an authentic aesthetic, we sourced clear Douglas Fir trees from local forests. Led by the skilled hands of Don Peterson and the Ball Construction team, every truss was cut, built, and raised with a reverence for the craftsmanship of yesteryear.

Our dedication to authenticity didn’t stop there—locally sourced wood was treated with a specialized formula, enhancing the aging process while preserving the wood’s natural beauty for generations to come. And, in a nod to the passage of time, all galvanized metal, including doors, roof panels, conduit, and electrical receptacles were manually aged with an acid wash to provide the weathered patina look our client was aiming for.

In every corner of this modern barn, the echoes of history resonate, and speak to our unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and an enduring appreciation for the art of building.
